Clinical Studies and Publications - Stop Excessive Sweating - Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Clinical Studies / Publications

Several clinical studies involving more than two hundred patients have been conducted over the past four years. Study results have been presented at major medical conferences and formal publications are in progress.

Commercial System

The commercial miraDry System design and procedure have been optimized from the investigational system. The result is a safe procedure with higher clinical efficacy than had been seen in earlier studies. Clinical study results for this system have been presented at professional society meetings. Final results of a study conducted in Canada will be presented at upcoming meetings and include 12 months of follow-up.

Prototype / Investigational Systems

The miraDry technology has evolved through several stages of product development, including clinical trials. The poster by Kaminer et al summarizes the early feasibility study work to establish the safety and efficacy of the technology in small numbers of patients. A larger, multi-center, randomized clinical study used an investigational device to establish the statistically significant efficacy of the miraDry technology when treating axillary hyperhidrosis. The interim results (Glaser et al) and final results (Kilmer et al) have been presented at professional society meetings.
